Production Machine Tooling

 Introduces the basic concepts of production machine tooling setup and adjustments. Tooling used in both milling and turning is introduced.  ANSI standards for insert and machine tooling are defined.

Course Objectives:

  • Outline appropriate milling tool geometry
  •  Explain appropriate turning tool geometry
  •  Identify proper drill and tap requirements for ANSI standard bolt sizes.
